Go Tuk'n is the only tour provider of this tour. These two historic neighborhoods were developed after the 1901 fire in Jacksonville. The residential architecture is some of the most unique across the USA in these two neighborhoods. In addition, you will visit the Memorial Part celebrating the legacy of our WWI veterans on the beautiful St. John's River. You will also find hidden parks and learn about our unique history in these areas of our city.

What To Expect

Riverside/Avondale Historic District

These historic neighborhoods have many parks, historic homes, and shoppes plus such much more to see and learn. These neighborhoods were created mainly after our famous 1901 fire that destroyed our downtown. Several famous Southern Rock bands started their musical career here in this area, so you'll get to see where it all began. Memorial Park, dedicated to our WWI fallen community members. And so much more.

Memorial Park

This park is dedicated to the fallen WWI from our city. This beautiful park overlooks the St. John's River as well.

Monday, October 12, 2020, my husband and I took the Certified Riverside Avondale Preservation Tour and LOVED it! I highly recommend taking one of these tours when in Jacksonville, FL!! The professionalism of this company began before we even booked a tour. When my husband and I were exploring what interesting activity we could do during the day on the Columbus Day Holiday in Jacksonville, FL we found Go Tuk'n. Reading all the information on the website about the tours offered we couldn't decide between two of the offerings so my husband sent an email inquiring for more details since we only had time for one tour. Stephanie Dale, the owner, was happy to provide answers and even asked some of her own which helped us make our choice. We had so much fun with Toni, our tour guide, putt-ing through the most architecturally fascinating neighborhoods. Toni is very knowledgeable and was able to customize the tour when she understood, by talking with us as we putt-ed along, what historical and architectural tidbits we found of particular interest. It takes a very skilled and knowledgeable guide to be able to do that and it certainly made the tour FABULOUS for us! I have no idea what details she might have left out nor what she added. All I know is that around every corner and at every stop informative interesting things fell out of Toni's mouth and into my ears. And, she waited for us to ask more questions, to which she mostly had the answers and told us when she didn't, before moving on to the next place to see. Go Tuk'n! You won't regret it!
