We had a good time looking at the old ships , the Settlement and the Museum. The Museum was the best part a lot of Great History to pick up on .

Kids are no longer being taught the real history of our country. If you come to the area plan on at least four days to really take in all of the history, artifacts, movies, and many other things to enjoy in Jamestown and Williamsburg. This is a must-see if you are within 40 miles, it's worth the drive. My husband was tired so I didn't get to take in as much as I would have. Buying the tickets through Tripadvisor saved money because you get a one week pass for the price of a one day pass. Trust me, you will need at least a few days to take it all in. What a fabulously educational experience.

We had a weeklong visit planned for the Historic Triangle (Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, and Yorktown). The museum at Jamestown was one of the most stunning presentations of artifacts and documents I have ever had the opportunity to visit. The exhibition "Tenacity" gives a center stage to the voices of women in colonial-era North America, a rare and precious point of view as seen through the lives of three women: a Native American, an English Settler, and an Enslaved African. Many documents and artifacts were on loan from England, and the delicate nature of preservation requires a darkened display, but all were easy to see and appreciate. A short film offered in the auditorium explains the Bacon Rebellion and its serious effect on the liberty and freedoms of Africans in the early settlements and should not be missed. After touring the exhibits in the museum, step outside to visit the Jamestowne Settlement and the replica ships. Both have costumed interpreters who are happy to share their knowledge and answer questions. Excellent for families, tourists, school groups and anyone interested in history.
