Big Morongo Canyon Preserve
Nestled among the Little San Bernardino Mountains in the Sand to Snow National Monument, the desert oasis at Big Morongo Canyon is one of the 10 largest cottonwood and willow riparian habitats in California. The upstream end of the canyon lies in the Mojave Desert, while its downstream portion opens into the Colorado Desert. There are numerous trails to walk and hike, including a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk through the marsh and riparian habitats. At 31,000 acres with elevations ranging from 600 feet on the canyon floor to 3000 feet at the top of the ridge, this diverse landscape has been an important part of the Morongo Basin’s natural and cultural history for almost two billion years.

Great tour, great guide who saved the day for us by bringing blankets before heading to Joshua Tree. Temperature drops fast and we were not prepared... Justin is a great guy, very knowledgeable and he mad this hummer tour very pleasant. I recommend him without hesitation. The first stop from Palm Desert is the Palm oasis and the San Andreas fault. Can't miss that as well. I learned a lot thanks to Justin.

Was concerned about being able to do this tour as I was a solo traveler, and Bill was very helpful in getting me on the tour! So glad I did it as I had a great time! Our tour guide Justin was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared informative and entertaining stories throughout the tour, and made sure we had plenty of picture opportunities. It was truly amazing traveling through the park on on the hummer - very fun and beautiful! Quite windy and chilly though - thankfully Justin had brought blankets and jackets! Highly recommend this tour & Justin as a guide!
