What To Expect
1
Joshua Tree National Park
Our shuttle van will take you to the city of Joshua Tree where we trade for our H-1 Military Hummer to complete your adventure. We climb to the top of a breathtaking overlook called Eureka Peak that will give you a stunning view of the valley below and a view that stretches all the way to Mexico.

Big Morongo Canyon Preserve
Nestled among the Little San Bernardino Mountains in the Sand to Snow National Monument, the desert oasis at Big Morongo Canyon is one of the 10 largest cottonwood and willow riparian habitats in California. The upstream end of the canyon lies in the Mojave Desert, while its downstream portion opens into the Colorado Desert. There are numerous trails to walk and hike, including a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk through the marsh and riparian habitats. At 31,000 acres with elevations ranging from 600 feet on the canyon floor to 3000 feet at the top of the ridge, this diverse landscape has been an important part of the Morongo Basin’s natural and cultural history for almost two billion years.

This is the best way to get a close up view of Joshua Tree National Park on its backroads as you travel up to an overlook of the whole valley floor area. The open air Hummer can be cold in the mid-winter timeframe, so dress in layers. Scott, our guide, was very knowledgeable and accommodating for all of us. Visit to the San Andreas fault was done enroute to the National Park.

Fantastic way to experience Joshua Tree, and great to leave the driving to someone else! Jeff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

If you want to experience the high desert in an off ride vehicle, this is the way to do it. I highly recommend the afternoon tour in the winter months. We were picked up in 12 passenger van and rode roughly an hour to stop at the desert oasis. I was expecting this, but loved walking through the palm trees. Our next stop was a Cafe/coffee shop in Yucca City. I wasn’t really sure what was going on, but realized 15 minutes later when our tour guide returned in the bright yellow hummer. My husband and I rode in the back top the entire trip (we offered it to others but everyone else needed more heat!). It was very bumpy, but fun. Our final stop was The Joshua Tree National Park. The views during this time of day were breathtaking! Definitely bring a jacket and clothes you don’t mind getting dusty.
