Dress warmly and in layers, and wear rubber-soled shoes such as a light hiking boot or athletic shoes. The tour company will provide overshoes and can supply raincoats as needed. Remember to bring your camera, film and binoculars!

WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Persons weighing 260 pounds (clothed weight) or more must pay an additional $150.00 to secure extra space in the aircraft. Not claiming the comfort seat or providing inaccurate weights may cause tour delays and cancellations without refunds. You must PRE RESERVE your comfort seat. ADA - We have an ADA lift that assists guests with getting in and out of the helicopter. If guests use the ADA lift, they will be required to stay inside the helicopter on the glacier. While on the glacier the pilot-guide will open the doors so guests can still take in the sights, sounds and smells. The ADA lift has a weight restriction of no more than 250 lbs. You MUST notify Coastal Helicopters if you will be requiring the ADA helicopter lift.

We would have loved to have taken this tour of a lifetime and were very excited to see there was a company advertising ADA compliance. That changed when I tried to book the tour. First the tour company said service dogs were not allowed per FAA, then the company emailed that "unfortunately they didn't allow service dogs on any of their tours". After pointing out that the web site states they are ADA the response was that they understood the web site was misleading and would work at correcting. It is our company policy that all seats are considered exit row seats and we operate in an open cockpit with exposed controls. Our helicopters stay running during loading and unloading; we have no way to predict how animals will react in and around active helicopters. The problem with this response is that it took so long to get a response that they obviously had to write the policy first. No handicapped person is allowed to sit in an exit row. (they allow persons that used wheelchairs and a lift to sit in those same rows). Trained service dogs have to be under control in all noise situations and they have every right to remove them if they are not. If a company is going to say they are ADA complaint they can not choose to comply with only the parts of the law.

We appreciate feedback and TripAdvisor reviews, thank you for taking the time. We were very accommodating to your concerns and made the necessary and suggested changes on our website. There were a few notes that were untrue in the review: 1. The FAA was never mentioned, this is a company policy and I was very clear on that. 2. You also stated that it took a long time to respond and you stated it was because we were changing our policy. Not correct. Your email was sent Feb 11th @ 3:59am (Alaska Time) and I responded on Feb 12th @ 1:58pm (Alaska Time). We accommodate wheelchair guests utilizing our ADA lift. These guests are seated behind the pilot who have control over the exit door. We have made changes on our website and are not advertising ADA complaint. We changed our verbiage to accommodate ADA lift assistance only. We also provide information regarding service animals on our FAQ page.

Highly recommend this helicopter tour. We didn't get a lot of time on the glacier but the pilot made up for it with drive bys to other glaziers.

We had a great time. The pilot was great and narrated the flight to and from Herbert glacier. Much cheaper than than the same tour through the cruise line. No worries about returning back to the cruise ship on time.
