My girlfriends and I had seen photos of Kailua Bay and knew we had to check it out while visiting Oahu. As inexperienced kayakers, we decided to go for the 2 hour guided tour. We checked in, met our guide, and got ready for our ocean adventure. The shop has incredibly cute apparel and everything you could need for your adventure. Our guide Hayley gave us an excellent paddle briefing, and before we knew it we were paddling like pros! The water color here was insane. After paddling for 40 minutes our group landed on the flat island and we walked around to explore. Hayley showed us Hawaiian crabs and pointed out a sea turtle! She shared much about the ecology of the islands - I learned so much! This is a must do. Staff was incredibly friendly and Kailua Bay is just dreamy!

I had originally booked a self-guided excursion, but the weather had taken a very windy turn, so I ended up switching to a guided kayaking trip at the shop. When I booked, I had no idea that the snorkeling gear, dry bag, locker, and bikes were also included in the trip! They gave us a snack and water for the trip, in addition to lunch vouchers to nearby restaurants (get the pizza!). They have a bunch of other beach rentals for use. Every single staff member is warm, welcoming, helpful, and eager to help you out. The value you get for the price you pay is phenomenal! My excursion was with Leala, and she was super chill. She was very knowledgeable of the area, ecosystem, flora and fauna, and was quick to give recommendations for other activities. This was by far the best day I had on Oahu, and I would happily return should I ever again find myself on Oahu!

All of our guides are CPR, First-Aid, and Lifeguard certified - they are well prepared to handle whatever weather may come. It's wonderful that you could take advantage of much of the gear included: snorkel gear, bikes, and dry bags. We look forward to seeing you again next time you're on Oahu!

WOW! What an amazing adventure. Kailua Beach Adventures made what could have been a sad, rainy day into something awesome! First, it was raining pretty hard most of the day. Second, we switched from a non-guided tour to a guided tour as some of the people in our party didn't have kayaking experience. We were a party of six that turned into a party of four. The non-kayakers decided that with the rain and the surf, even with a guide it was too much for them. Our guide was WONDERFUL!!! Kailani took so much time to explain everything to us from kayaking pointers, to wildlife, to rocks, to plant life. We only kayaked to Flat Island but it was awesome. I cannot tell you enough how much fun we had. It was raining out and we still were laughing and having a great time. A few notes ... I booked this trip from Aulani's website. It DOES NOT give you a full run down on the things you can do. Our trip included LUNCH, snorkeling equipment, bikes, dry bags, etc. Aulani information doesn't break any of that down. We didn't allot enough time to do any of the other activities like biking but we should have. This place was GREAT! Would book with them again anytime! Please note that I've marked this as a "friends" trip but we were an extended family with adult children.
