Overview

This 1.5-hour Segway tour will visit the cultural center of Kansas City, taking in the architecture, art, and landscape/gardens of our bustling metropolis. This 1.5 hr tour does NOT go to The Plaza shopping/restaurant district or to the Westport area.

Please note that all guests NEED TO ARRIVE 30 MINUTES BEFORE the start of their tour time for MANDATORY SEGWAY TRAINING. There is available on-street PARKING in the immediate area along Walnut St. and 43rd St.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Minimum age is 12 years old AND THEY MUST WEIGH AT LEAST 100 lbs. for the Segway base to operate correctly.
Participants under 18 MUST be with a parent or responsible party 21 yrs or older to sign waiver.
Maximum weight is 275 lbs.
Dress code: closed-toe shoes are best, no heels, weather appropriate layers, and no hats worn under helmets.
Sorry, NO PREGNANT Segway tour participants!
NOT recommended for those with restricted mobility issues, must be able to stand comfortably for up to 2 hrs.
NOT recommended for those with recent hip or knee replacement or back surgeries.
NOT ALLOWED FOR PREGNANT TRAVELERS.
Not recommended for participants who have had major hip/knee replacement surgeries.

What To Expect

Segway, Bike & Stroll

This tour takes participants around the grounds of the nearby art museums and gardens. It does NOT go to The Plaza area.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

We tour near the museum and the nearby gardens.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Segway tour with Rachel. We went thruohght the Nelson-Atkins gardens and the Kauffman conservation area. We also toured the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden and the Country Club Plaza where we learned about the influence of the sister city, Seville, on the architecture of KC. My 15 and 17 year old daughters enjoyed their first Segway tour and were very comfortable within the first 15 minutes of the tour. Rachel was very knowledgeable of the areas and very sweet. We highly recommend this tour as a part of your KC experience. She has traveled extensively and brought many stories to the tour and offered recommendations for the rest of our weekend.

A great experience! Our tour guide Kelly was fun, knowledgeable and patient (as we learned to use the Segway which was not as hard as we expected). We have lived in the KC area all of our lives and have never experienced it in this way. This was a really fun and new way to see some of KC's best sights and learn new things about the Art Institute and the Nelson-Atkins Museum, as well as tour Kauffman Gardens and zip around the Country Club Plaza on our Segway's. Highly recommend this tour for visitors AND KC residents!
