Kauai Shore Excursion: Journey to Waimea Canyon

Overview
In stark contrast to Kauai’s lushness is Waimea Canyon State Park. Over thousands of years earthquakes and erosion have created dramatic variation in the landscape. Waimea Canyon, “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, is the showpiece of the tour and offers one of the best views of the western coast of the island.

The trip was very good and we got to see a lot of the island. The bus driver was knowledgeable, however, she talked a lot about old history and not so much about what we were seeing out of the bus windows while traveling down the road.

The views of the canyon were great and the coastal water spout was also great for pictures. Coffee plantation was not very exciting for non-coffee drinkers, would have been nice to offer non-coffee drinking guests cold water.
