Kawaihae Whale Watch - Guaranteed

Overview
Every winter, thousands of humpback whales travel to the warm, shallow waters of Hawai‘i to mate, give birth, and raise their young. Learn the true scale of humpback whales through an intimate encounter on a small-group whale watch, where every seat is a front seat. Get off the beaten path and sail past sheer cliff walls of the windward Kohala shoreline as you discover breathtaking vistas of both Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Discover whales and the perfect perspective close to the water to allow for a once-in-a-lifetime viewing. Ocean stewardship is deeply embedded in Native Hawaiian culture. Humpback whales, or koholā, are an important part of history, legends, and connection to the sea.

We had a great time on this Whale Watch! Our originally scheduled for a Monday was cancelled early in the morning due to inclement weather and high seas. We rescheduled for the next Sunday, and had a fantastic time. The captain and crew were great and very knowledgeable, and there were chips and snacks, and complimentary drinks (alcoholic and non-). We had about 40 people on the catamaranand that seemed to be a good number. (There is a toilet on board!) We did see a whale, and were the only boat to do so that day. The company offers a guaranty policy about seeing a whale, and will give you an additional trip (not refund) if you do not see one. Plan to go on this early in your vacation!

Do not take this tour. It is nothing like is advertised. It is not a catamaran like you would think, see picture, no snorkel gear. Not very professional at all, 2 person crew that did not make me feel all warm and cozy. Nothing to make your experience fun, no music, offered a bottle of water or a can of juice and a bag of chips. Very disappointing

It was early in the season, but we wanted to make an attempt to see whales off of the Kona coast! Our female crew was amazing at getting us safely through the choppy water, and they were willing to take us as far south as needed to see whales! But it wasn’t long before we actually spotted a humpback whale! We got close enough to take some spectacular pictures! What a thrill!! On our way back, we spotted the whale again!! The crew was also very kind and helpful to our seasick friend! I would highly recommend this adventure!
