We did the Kayak Tour and it was super fun. They cancelled the snorkeling part of the tour as the surf was high and visibility poor. We saw people snorkeling with other companies but the surf really was high making me believe the visibility would be low so we appreciated that they cancelled that part. Our group was large and it was hard to hear the guides, though when you could hear them, they were very interesting. The guides also didn't try to keep track of the kayaks with them. It wasn't a problem on our tour but I could see how it could become a problem. La Jolla Street Parking WARNING! We parked on the street running straight out from the shop. It was on a slight hill. Every car with out of state plates had a parking ticket on it for not turning the wheels into the curb. It was very under handed. Please be warned and I implore the local companies to warn their customers who book tours in advance with them.

This was a great tour! Knowledgeable guides Lilly and Kelly were an asset to have, lots of interesting info about the area and marine life. Kelly takes 2 kayaks at a time into one of the caves, not scary at ALL, you go in and out the same way, not claustrophobic at all. Some choppy waters and a good swell to get back to the beach, good fun surf-kayaking. A great experience worth doing! Saw a number of sea lions too. They provide all the equipment.

I love to kayak - but, have limited experience mostly in smooth waters, not open ocean. Staff at BikeandKayak were friendly on the phone and in person, and I mean all of them. Tyler and Abby were our tour guides and they did a great job. I thought of how challenging it must be for them depending on water conditions, participant skill level and the relative short time we had. Highlight of my trip. Then my recommendation for lunch, El Pescador.. wow, she seemed to know right where to send me. Do this tour, even if you’re not sure you can.
