Fairweather Kayaks is based in one of the most beautiful areas in southeast Alaska. A little town called Hoonah, Alaska. Not only do you feel like its home when you get here. The people here make it feel like home. It's a hard place to leave after you visit.

Fairweather Kayaks main goal is to show you an experience that when your outing is done. Not only will you walk away happy and relaxed from being out on the water. Our goal is to show you such a good time you'll be thinking about your next visit before you even leave.

Fairweather Kayaks takes you into calm waters where the kayaking experience isnt too difficult and theres always a chance to see wildlife.

What To Expect

Hoonah

We'll leave the town of Hoonah and we'll travel by an old logging camp. After that we'll get out at a place us locals call Long Island.

Cody and his family were great. Cody was attentive, helpful, and a great source of info, and communication was great all around. We were on the water for several hours, and the views were just amazing. The waters were calm and easy to paddle as well. Definitely one of the highlights of our cruise. Pick Fairweather Kayaks if you want to get on the water in Hoonah/Icy Strait Point!

Cody was an Outstanding guide. Our family of four (Mom, Dad, two teenage kids) were treated with care while still allowing for whatever independence we wanted with our adventure. We saw multiple bears up close and at a distance along with Bald Eagles and salmon galore. Book at kayak tour with Cody!!

I'm glad you're family had a great time with us and felt like you had enough room to move around. I'm glad we saw bears, eagles and the salmon. I always think its hidden treat seeing the salmon for people. Its a lot of fun seeing them swim and jump.

Excellent from booking to return to the ship. We were given very clear instructions on where to meet our transport and after a short drive were taken to the kayaks. We were helped with life jackets and with getting in, such that at no point did we get wet. Regular comfy clothes were sufficient. Cody was a charming and amiable guide and the support boat ensured everybody was safe. Michelle took photos and these were all emailed to us the same day. The paddling was easy and the excursion was scenic and peaceful. I highly recommend this small independent operator. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy what they did and wanted you to have the best experience.
