Fairweather Kayaks is based in one of the most beautiful areas in southeast Alaska. A little town called Hoonah, Alaska. Not only do you feel like its home when you get here. The people here make it feel like home. It's a hard place to leave after you visit.

Fairweather Kayaks main goal is to show you an experience that when your outing is done. Not only will you walk away happy and relaxed from being out on the water. Our goal is to show you such a good time you'll be thinking about your next visit before you even leave.

Fairweather Kayaks takes you into calm waters where the kayaking experience isnt too difficult and theres always a chance to see wildlife.

What To Expect

Hoonah

We'll leave the town of Hoonah and we'll travel by an old logging camp. After that we'll get out at a place us locals call Long Island.

Our kayaking trip was definitely one of the highlight of our 10-day cruise. We were the only 2 scheduled that day and the family made sure we felt comfortable and had the proper gear. (We wore rain pants and rain boots, which helped too.) Even though it wasn't a sunny day, it was really fun paddling in the refreshing rain, as it makes the waters calm and the salmon jump! They would surround us with their random splashes so that I thought one would land right in my hands. We got to experience the tides and explored a creek as well where 3 bald eagles were sitting on a log. The scenery is just beautiful, with the tall trees draped with old man's beard, and the ravens' calls... clear waters, with pink and white jellyfish and salmon. Talking and trading stories with our knowledgeable guide, Cody, was also enjoyable. We recommend Fairweather Kayaks 100%! Thank you for this memorable trip!

We had a great time on our kayaks and enjoying the beauty of Hoonah. We were lucky enough to see a bear- shout out to Dave for spotting him! Lots of fun.

Dave is a great tour guide. We saw fish, deer, bald eagles, jellyfish and crabs. Our family really enjoyed it, and the weather was perfect.
