Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

This was great. It was amazing to see the mantas swimming literally inches from you. They did a great job explaining everything and getting you quickly to the spots. Would definitely do this again.

Had an awesome time this evening seeing 3 mantas which stuck around the entire time in the water. Captain Dylan, Aki and Leah hou (sorry if that’s wrong) we’re very friendly and informative. Having the small group of just 6 was perfect. Definitely recommend this tour company 🥹

Literally the worst snorkeling experience so far. The crew did introduce anything, didn’t sanitize the gears. We went right into the water. One of the guys had his snorkel leaking but the captain didn’t take any action. We were floating in the water for only about 15min. Just saw a manta swimming by far away then we went back

Aloha, We are sorry to hear about your negative experience. We try our best to engage with all guests and provide outstanding customer service, therefore, I apologize if we were not able to serve you the best experience possible as that is our main goal aside from safety. As far as our snorkeling gear, we have a large bin filled with clean masks and snorkels that have been sanitized and washed the day prior. We do not use the same snorkel and/or mask within the same night and we have more than enough to supply tours throughout the entire night. We always give the full 30 minutes of water time unless the majority of the group of 6 passengers is not complying with my water guide. This is crucial for safety protocols as we only have one water guide in the ocean watching over 6 passengers. Please note that some people have booked online and disregarded the requirements needed in order for us to provide and serve the best experience possible. Restrictions include the ability to swim 5-10 ft. to the light board with a pool noodle; being able to lay flat and float for 20-30 minutes; the ability to comply and communicate in English; and the physical ability to climb the 3-step ladder to get back into the boat. Being that we are not always able to contact 3rd party reservations as we are limited on contact information from certain booking platforms, we are almost always faced with challenges such as those who do not meet these requirements.
