This was amazing! We were greeted professionally and initially informed they may need to cancel us because of rough seas but Captain Sam stuck it out and gave a smooth ride out and guide Eli was very informative in the water. As we floated there watching, the rays brushed right up against us time and time again! The one negative was that their mask and snorkel were poor quality and kept leaking. We wish weā€™d have taken the sets weā€™ve been using all week with us. The water was a bit cloudy but thatā€™s just Mother Nature and the swell, and nothing the tour company can control. The rays come so close you canā€™t miss them! The kids said this was the highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend!

Thank you for the high recommendation. It was a pleasure having you and everyone in your family out with us. I'm excited to hear that you were able to experience some up close and personal encounters with Kona's incredible mantas despite the stirred up conditions. Mahalo for recognizing our captain and crew and I will be sure to pass the kudos on to them. We appreciate your support and hope to see everyone back out snorkeling with us again. Aloha.

Overall it was a unique experience - it was nice to get up close to the manta ray. Check-in and boat ride were also a breeze. However, we were extremely unhappy with our guide, Dylan. Maybe he was in a bad mood that night. The whole time he was impatient and grumpy with us. While we were getting from the boat to the board and still trying to get our bearing, he yelled at the group and told us to go back to the boat if we didn't want to see the manta rays. Hello? We are just trying get comfortable adjusting our position. Later, he was grumpy again when he told us to move the noodle down to our waists, saying something like "I don't know how many times I have to repeat myself, but I'm gonna keep saying it". Did it ever occur to him that maybe some of us aren't just need some time to get comfortable with the water? After this, it was just silence from him. No interesting information about the manta rays. Nothing. While our group was looking at the manta rays feeding in silence, I heard the guide of another group giving educational and pleasant introduction of the manta rays. Wish he was our guide instead.

Thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing the mantas. I have passed your comments on to Dylan and agree that we all have good days and bad days. Out of all of our guides Dylan has been with us the longest and has shared many nights out with our guests. His primary job is to keep everyone safe and it can be frustrating when people don't listen or follow instructions. I apologize if this came across as rude or impatient and can discuss how to improve our communication moving forward. Mahalo for your time and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay on the Big Island. Aloha.

Friendly staffs; COVID-safe capacity (each boat only takes 6 passengers); marvelous experience. I felt the tour was kind of short, but definitely saw a lot of manta rays!
