Amazing. No other word to describe it. It was so nice to have a small group. We saw many other tours leaving with giant groups. They gave you everything you needed and explained everything really well!

Overall a wonderful experience. We got to see many manta rays; a couple of manta rays swam up very close to us and nearly touched me. Our guide was very helpful in bringing manta rays to us (and vice versa) and showing me good techniques on staying horizontal.

The night snorkel was one of our favorite activities on the Big Island. We chose Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours because they do small group outings of up to 6 people and they had a Groupon discount at the time. They run a very simple operation. Itā€™s a super quick 2 minute boat ride to the snorkeling spot and youā€™ll be in the water for around 30 minutes (which may be on the shorter side compared to other groups but it was more than enough time). Snorkel gear and a wet suit are provided as well as light snacks and hot chocolate for after (which was really appreciated as it got cold during the ride back). At our 9:40 time slot, we saw 4 different rays and they were almost constantly swimming in front of us. General tips: bring a waterproof phone case or camera to get really cool video! Also I read that itā€™s better to book later in the evening as youā€™ll be more likely to see more mantas.

Thank you for joining us. It great to hear that you enjoyed the tour and smaller group setting. As far as seeing mantas each night is different and it basically comes down to luck. Sometimes they are hungry and show up early, sometimes it's more in the middle and sometimes they are a little late to the party. What ever they decide to do is totally on their terms but we are generally very sucessful in seeing mantas on all of our tours. Mahalo for taking the time to leave us a review and we hope to see you again. Aloha.
