In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

This was our first activity when we got to Kona and it was INCREDIBLE. The boat ride couldn’t be more than a minute and then you hope it and you are in their spectacular world. Everyone was so helpful. Wetsuits were offered and I’m so glad i took one because even though it wasn’t cold out i got chilly. The diver was super knowledgeable about all of the manatarays and it was a sight to behold. Do this experience and be better than me and bring a underwater camera or GoPro! Thanks!!!

Absolutely amazing experience! Got to see the rays in their natural environment, similar to “a fly on the wall” while feeding. Granted, their food was concentrated around us which was not natural, but we got to view them up close and personal which was their preference! Just wish it had been longer (30 minutes in water only). Remember to bring a waterproof case for camera if you want photos! We forgot that :(

Alisha, Sam and Jake were awesome and very friendly! It is a small group they take out each trip which made it seem more personal and less likely for others to ruin things by flailing about. 30 minutes is a good amount of time to enjoy these large, wonderful creatures. They swim so close but never touch...I swear they were 3" from my face mask! Highly recommend, it may be expensive but well worth the experience!
