In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

We booked a Captain Cook snorkel day trip and a Manta Ray night snorkel. Both were a blast! The day snorkel was so much fun with the Captain and his daughter. They were very helpful giving tips and keeping us safe at Captain Cook. The Manta Ray night snorkel is something that everyone should do in their lifetime. The boats for both are small and hold only about 6 guests at a time (maybe a few more?). I appreciated this because we were never crowded and got personal attention and conversation. You will not regret booking with them.

Great time, the kids loved it. The boat ride was only 3 minutes to the spot. Captain Sam was awesome. Would high recomend this company.

This was an incredible MUST-DO experience if you're on the Big Island! We were staying in Hilo on our honeymoon and drove down to Kona for the day just for this and it was 1000000% worth it! "Queeny" was the only Manta we saw, but man she put on a show! All of the people we met with Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours were great and they even got us out on the boat early to watch the sunset! If you're on the fence about this, book it!!! For anyone who is nervous, my husband was TERRIFIED, but humored me and gave this a shot. He said it was one of his favorite things we did on our honeymoon and is so grateful he did it. He said it wasn't scary at all now that he's done it!
