In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

The actual activity was a terrific experience, seeing the manta rays so close. The looping feeding maneuver allowed you to see several feet inside their bodies! The small 6-person size was a bonus. The mask and wet suits were top notch, and the guides were informative. One only complaint, hence the 4 stars, was that this boat launch area is very crowded and poorly lit. Our event was at 9 pm, so it was completely dark. Better instructions on parking would be a plus, as I received a parking ticket at 10pm for parking in a boat/trailer area, when it is too dark to see the signage. Oddly enough, I was back here at 7:30 the following morning, and in daylight it was quite obvious where prohibited parking area were.

I'm not sure a whole lot can be done to improve the lighting in the area when it comes to parking but we are in discussion with how to better direct guest's so a parking ticket can be avoided. This was a once in a lifetime experience! It was so cool! They came within inches of us, and did flips and dives the whole time. They’re so graceful, like giant butterflies.

Amazing! We felt we were in the best hands with this operator - small boat out to site (6 people), wetsuits (which we were glad to have), lots of expertise. An incredible experience. 110% satisfied.
