In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

The manta rays of course but, watching the sunset from the water right before the swim was also amazing!(I took the 7:00pm tour)

We can’t recommend this company enough. From the moment we checked in the employees were SO friendly and made us feel at home. Swimming with the mantas was something we will always remember. When we first got in the water we couldn’t see any and our captain let us know that another boat had 4 near us. Our water guide quickly adjusted our spot and before we knew it they were coming from everywhere. We met 8 manta rays who did flips for us the whole rest of the swim. Some were 14 feet wide! Our guide taught us all about their behaviors and how to tell them apart. We even saw a male trying to court one of the females. We loved that our group was small (only my family of 5 on the boat) and the team made us feel like we were family. Other companies had close to 20 people per boat and I can’t imagine the experience would be the same. I will be recommending Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours to everyone and can’t wait to come back!
