Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

I was worry and hesitate about snorkeling at nightime. Yet I thought to give it a try. It was a most amazing experience I ever had. It seems to me that there were so many Manda Rays surroundings us. Yet according to my friend, there were only 5 of them. We had chance to closely look and interact with them. They elbowed, belly rubed me. They flipped around us so many times. They are so big with their huge mouths yet they are harmless animals. The crew are very nice and knowledgeable. Also saw many needle fishes too. Overall, what an awesome lifetime experience We had.

Seeing the Manta Rays was an unforgettable experience. They come very close and to see them like this was breathtaking. The crew are friendly and knowledgeable. The one thing I wasn't expecting was the severe motion sickness from floating on the water on my stomach. The first 15 minutes were golden. The rest of the time I was just trying to keep from getting sick. I'm not prone to motion sickness so this was a surprise. This isn't their fault. If had known that might happen I probably wouldn't have gone. Of course I didn't know, I went, I'm grateful I did. I never have to do it again and I won't.

Mahalo for coming out with us. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your time in the water with Kona's friendly mantas and sorry the motion sickness snuck up on you. I hope you were able to recoup back on land with some hot ginger tea. Sea sickness is not uncommon and happens to the best of us. Taking a motion sickness medication well ahead of a boat tour is one of the best ways to hopefully avoid it and improve your experience.
