This was a great day out, tour guide was very good.It was a shame that the launching pad was closed due to government shut down, but it didn't spoil the day.

For the activities available, this was way too long. We were told to be at our pickup location by 7:30; picked up @ 8am (we were the second group picked up; we spent another 45 minutes picking up people at various locations), and did not get back until after 7:30 pm (only because we were the second group to be dropped off; it would have been WAY later had the other folks been dropped off first (we had a full bus). We took a taxi back to our Disney resort (no time to wait for free bus, and just barely had enough time to change and make a 9pm dinner (scheduled as trip was advertised as returning to drop off by 6pm). The highlight of the visit was by far the Atlantis exhibit. Well done from the opening video to all the displays. My husband used to be in the space industry (one of the engineers who designed the wheels/brakes on the original shuttle Columbia); so he was very much looking forward to the trip. Our daughters bought this for him for his birthday. We did the "lunch with an astronaut", not exactly what we expected, but was nice (food was better than other choices offered at the center). There are two I-Max theatres...we only got to see one (good video), the other was out if commission due to the impending Mars launch. We visited every display at great length and still had time left over. We opted to go with our driver to the Astronaut Hall of Fame at 4pm. This was Ok too; again, we saw everything there with tine to spare. We joined the rest of our party outside; the bus had disappeared and returned after 5pm (we all would have boarded earlier had it been available). We then returned to the Space Center and picked up the remainder of our group who had opted for the lengthier tour (additional cost); they returned at 5:30. Had the whole experience been a few hours less in length, we would have had a much more positive review. We have done Viator tours in Europe on several occassions and ALWAYS felt they were worth the time and money; this was disappointing.
We had a good experience on the Kennedy Space Centre day trip wherein the pick-up and drop was prompt. The tour was properly guided and had a good time seeing the various presentations/demonstration/attractions. Will recommend to those who are interested in this subject and to do something different then theme parks.
