Perfect adventure for the price. We saw a Black Bear, a deer, Bald Eagle and learned all about the totem poles, fisheries, the town, etc.

On July 14, Ketchikan was our first port and this tour was a perfect introduction to Alaska. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Carson. His in-depth knowledge of the history, culture and wildlife of the area was impressive. We learned about salmon, bears, bald eagles, the early days of the settlement and the totems. Our photos, especially of the eagles, were wonderful. Carson shared lots of anecdotes of growing up in the community and on the ride back to the port even recited The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert Service (flawlessly). It was a very memorable experience!

Carson was very accommodating, trying to show us what we wanted to see. The weather had been so good that the rivers were low and the salmon late, so we didn't get to see bears. Made sure we saw bald eagles to photograph as requested and very knowledgable about the area, the totems and history of the area. There were only 7 of us in the van, so very comfortable. Love these smaller tours, so much more personable than a large coach trip.
