What To Expect

Ward Cove

Once home to North America's largest pulp mill, this rustic site is home to our mooring dock. As you view the remnants of the site both as you board the vessel and as we cruise past by water, we'll share some of its history.

Totem Bight State Historical Park

Guests will view the collection of CCC era 14 hand-carved Tlingit & Haida totem poles & Alaska Native clan house in full panorama from the water. Our crew members are happy to snap a photo of you & your traveling companions in front of this beautiful cultural site.

Guard Island Lighthouse

Built in 1904 and still in operation today, Guard Island Lighthouse is perched on and island on the entrance to Clarence Straits. We'll pause in front of the lighthouse, so you can enjoy panoramic views of this landmark and the seascape beyond. If you have a USLHS passport, don't forget to ask for a stamp!

Tongass National Forest

Throughout the tour, views the Tongass National Forest, the world's largest temperate rainforest, will be available to you from the water. On the return trip from the lighthouse, we'll follow the shoreline of the neighboring island of Gravina, where you'll have a chance to view old growth forest, or trees that have never been harvested.

This was an awesome tour of the beautiful area of Ketchikan! Captain Jeff was born and raised in the area and gave us an amazing history of the area along with lots of fun facts and things he has experienced living there. He has a most amazing crew, from pick up to on the boat and after. Everyone… Captain Jeff, Rebecca, Rachel, Jessica & Brooke were all fantastic and all knew SO many things about Ketchikan culture, history & life. This is a very laid back, comfortable tour great for kids and adults!

We took Captain Jeff’s tour during our stop on our Disney cruise. By far, it was the highlight of our trip. His staff (Amber and Michael) were friendly and helpful. They provided snacks and drinks (free!) on the boat tour as well. Captain Jeff is so knowledgeable and also grew up in the area. They are a locally owned and operated company— 10/10 recommend this tour.

Making the reservations with Rebecca was so professional and informative of what the excursion will be. Easy to find and super employees and informational on the tour. Captain Jeff is amazing is and he is the owner of the excursion and his love for his job/guest shows in all ways. If you have not been on this excursion you don’t know what you are missing. We saw Eagles, orcas and many other beautiful thing you will want to see in Ketchikan. So come and and make this one of your visits on your cruise or just your vacation.
