What To Expect
1
Ward Cove
Once home to North America's largest pulp mill, this rustic site is home to our mooring dock. As you view the remnants of the site both as you board the vessel and as we cruise past by water, we'll share some of its history.
2
Totem Bight State Historical Park
Guests will view the collection of CCC era 14 hand-carved Tlingit & Haida totem poles & Alaska Native clan house in full panorama from the water. Our crew members are happy to snap a photo of you & your traveling companions in front of this beautiful cultural site.
3
Guard Island Lighthouse
Built in 1904 and still in operation today, Guard Island Lighthouse is perched on and island on the entrance to Clarence Straits. We'll pause in front of the lighthouse, so you can enjoy panoramic views of this landmark and the seascape beyond. If you have a USLHS passport, don't forget to ask for a stamp!
4
Tongass National Forest
Throughout the tour, views the Tongass National Forest, the world's largest temperate rainforest, will be available to you from the water. On the return trip from the lighthouse, we'll follow the shoreline of the neighboring island of Gravina, where you'll have a chance to view old growth forest, or trees that have never been harvested.

They were so nice, from captain Jeff, Kyle, and Rebeca, very professional with many details about the areas. Served us delicious hot coco and snacks.

Sad to think I was onboard Capt. Jeff's boat just a week ago! Excellent excurstion-it was time and money well spent. We saw totems, eggles, egglet, and eagle nests, beautiful Alaska landscape, etc. Capt. Jeff filled us with local knowledge and humor. He is very passionate and it shines through this tour! The snack and the hot chocolate hit the spot at the right time, and he even gave us his salmon dip recipe. A must see/do excursion!

Lighthouse Excursion was one of the highlights of our Alaskan excursion. Captain Jeff and his crew provided insightful information and sightings of the wildlife, islands and Alaskan life. Tasty local snacks and hot chocolate were served. Highly recommend!!
