Doran, our guide, was very knowledgeable and therefore was giving us lots of information concerning the history of the lake. When we went on the Nature Hike, he knew the plants and trees and was able to tell us about many of them. His personality was really pleasant and he led us down the river to the snack tent with good humor.

We were amazed at the information our guide gave us on the progression of glacers to the current day rain forest and lake. The canoeing was not to strenuous and was for all ages. After the canoeing, we had a an amazing lunch of salmon, chowder, home-made bread and jam. Then it was off to learn about rain forest on a short easy trail. Very thankful for the crew and a wonderful trip in nature.

We had a blast! Doran was an outstanding guide. He was able to frame Lake Harriet Hunt and the Tongass Forest in a wonderful historical and ecological context and do so in an intelligent and entertaining way. We came away with an absolute appreciation for these untouched gems. Would gladly recommend this excursion to any and all!
