The tour was lots of fun and Doran kept us amused with his stories and puns and real knowledge of the plant life. The setting is beautiful and serene and the canoeing felt good and not strenuous. Very pleasant afternoon.

Took about 40 minutes to reach the lake Harriett hunt from the cruiseship. Had a good bus driver that provided some information on Ketchikan. We had fog that morning but it lifted after the first hour and then we had excellent weather. The lake is beautiful and the activity, enjoyable (not strenuous) . Doran had excellent knowledge on the vegetation and its medicinal properties. Quite pleasant. Half way, we proceeded to a short stop to eat an amazing clam chowder (and some local food) and to walk for 10-15 minutes on a flat surface. Tim was our cook.... Amazing times and would highly recommend.

We took this excursion as part of our Alaskan Cruise. We enjoyed the idea of a canoe trip on the lake and then a short hike learning about the flora and fauna of the area, and this tour totally came through with what was promised. Our guide Doran made this a memorable part of our vacation. He was a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm about the area and its history, and he kept us laughing with his jokes. It's clear he has a passion for what he does. Lake Harriet Hunt is full of beauty and really captures what Ketchikan is.
