First off - Doran was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, very well educated about the area and the history. He was a ton of fun and I could have listened to him spout facts for another five hours. Secondly - this is a great adventure for beginners. The canoeing is easy, especially with a group and the hike is probably the easiest trail (if it can really be called that) I've ever been on. The downside is, if you're an experienced hiker and you're thinking this is going to be a long hike (like I was) you'll be only slightly disappointed (because it's still really cool and you'll have a ton of fun). Thanks to the cook too! Hot chocolate was delicious :) Oh!! And I almost forgot our driver! I apologize, I can't remember the gentleman's name (young blonde from Washington-you know who you are) was absolutely hilarious and entertaining for the 40 minute drive out and back into town. I'll remember the Dodge Dart forever now.

My sister and I took the canoe tour from Alaska Travel Adventures. It was great, the weather was perfect. Our guide was Doran and was a whealth of knowledge about the canoes, lake, fauna and more. Jokes were pretty good too. The food that Jed served was delicious. Thank you for a memorable part of our vacation.

Loved the canoeing on the lake, the informative commentary and the fireside lunch. All staff was wonderful from the bus driver to the cook and everyone in between.
