St James by-The-Sea Episcopal Church

This beautiful church, featuring a unique peach-colored belltower, dates back to 1908. Like so much of the neighborhood, it owes its existence to Ellen Browning Scripps.

Athenaeum Music and Arts Library

This beautiful Spanish-revival building is a must-visit for lovers of the arts. In addition its the huge permanent collection of art and music, the Athenaeum also features regular events, including jazz concerts, constantly rotating arts exhibits, and more.

I love the idea. A personal tour connected to the gps. Getting the app and password worked fine and starting the tour went fine. But after the first stop, I couldn’t get it to play automatically. And since the La Jolla site was super busy with no parking, there was no time to take in the scenery. Maybe it didn’t work because I was moving so slow in traffic? I went back late afternoon, found a park but the tour wouldn’t play. As a solo traveler, calling tech support was not an option. I might try it again for another tour off season because I really like the idea. But this was a waste.

Thanks for letting us know. I’d love to understand why the audio didn’t trigger automatically — it’s tied to GPS, so it plays as you move into a certain spot.
