What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

My wife and two children, 14 and 11 years old came with me. We have travel to Tahoe many times from the SF Bay Area and this time we truly saw Tahoe from a different point of view. Being early during the middle of the week is key to avoiding the crowds and getting getting a good shots without being annoyed. Mike Guarino was our guide and was very knowledgeable regarding the history and knew the good solid shots. Tell them where you have been and what you would like to see. I enjoyed parking at the edge of the campsite and walking in to see Emerald Bay from the opposite side and South Lake Tahoe from the tip of Emerald Bay Park. I swear that some of my family shots look so good you would think it was a green screen. Thank you so much.

We had an absolutely spectacular time. Griffin was fun and knowledgeable. We were able to see areas around the lake that we never would have known existed, let alone been able to find. The weather was perfect and the views were spectacular. Thank you so much!

My wife, friend, and myself spent a half day with Griffin and had a wonderful experience. I have been a serious photographer for over fifty years and done annual photo trips for the past 25 years. While this trip was not principally a photo trip, finding someone like Griffin to take us around and show us some spots that I clearly would not have been able to get to on my own. Being able to receive photos taken by Griffin of our group at no additional charge was a big plus. Since I was not sking, the guided photo day was the highlight of the Lake Tahoe trip for me. It was a great day! Griffin was engaging and a real delight.
