Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoeā€™s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

What a lovely day spent with Griffin, our guide and photographer. You know how it can get a bit embarrassing to keep asking someone to take your photo coz after so many times they start to get annoyed? Well, none of that on this tour. Your guide will gladly take your photos in the most scenic spots in South Lake Tahoe -- those you probably wouldn't find on your own. We especially enjoyed Fallen Leaf Lake. Breathtaking. And "The Point" was made even more beautiful by the presence of an American bald eagle that screeched as if to tell us he is up on the tree and ready to strike a pose. :) The landscape photos we received only 3 days later were really something. Our half-day tour was supposed to last for only 4-5 hours but we were out for a total of 6. Not sure if we were just slow or if it was because Griffin missed the turn on a couple of spots so that we had to turn around. That's the one issue we had -- our guide was a bit too chatty that he missed turns! He is the nicest guy and full of information -- just a bit too chatty. I also felt that the landscape photos turned out much better than those with us in it! I guess the flash was a bit harsh on the color of our skin? I'm no expert so don't take my word for it. Overall it was a day well-spent and I would do it all over again! Don't forget to bring snacks (they provide water) so you don't go hungry in case it's past lunch and you haven't had the chance to drop by some place for food. Oh and bathrooms aren't always easy to find (seasonal, I guess?) so keep that in mind!

My friend and I (both avid photographers) went out with Tahoe Photographic Tours for a tour this last weekend. We took a half day tour of South Lake Tahoe. Our guide (Griffin) was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area and photography. We had a good time. My friend (a pro photographer) was a bit apprehensive going in as he has been on tours elsewhere with mixed results. He was very complementary of Griffin and mentioned that he seemed to quickly adapt to what and how we wanted to shoot. We ended up getting quite a bit of snow (probably the biggest snow storm of 2015) which somewhat limited our options on locations- Conditions at several areas were poor so Griffin suggested alternate locations to view. We were picked up on time in a clean luxury SUV. Even though the conditions were snowy & cold we were very comfortable in the vehicle. Overall the experience was very positive.

Hello Tahoe Photographic Tours guest. Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. As you know often great photographic opportunities can exist during inclement weather. I'm glad that Griffin was able to find some good locations in the weather, and that everyone had a good time. We look forward to your next visit and hopefully great weather!

This was a great tour and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Lake Tahoe. Mike was our guide and he was extremely informative, a great guy and made everything just perfect. His photos of us and the scenic views were of extremely high quality, capturing the amazing beauty of the lakes and the mountains. He was surprised when I told him I was going to propose during the tour and would like him to take some pictures of us, but he did an extraordinary job! Thanks to him I'll have some great photos of one of the most important moments of my life to share with my loved ones. Even if I didn't propose, his photos were some the best memories we have from our trip to CalifĆ³rnia. Great job and I look forward to someday returning to Lake Tahoe during the summer for another tour!!
