Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoeā€™s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

We were in Tahoe for 2 days only. Wanted to see the highlights, stress free. And TPT was amazing. Doug picked us up at our hotel and took us off the beaten path to every great picture spot around Tahoe. A few short little hike's were good my heart...and stomach...and soul. I can't wait to see the professional pictures they send!! I actually enjoyed meeting Doug's wife, and having a picnic lunch with the 2 of them, just as much as I did the actual tour. It was like having a "local" aunt & uncle to chat with!! I love NOT feeling like a 'tourist'. And this was the perfect way to make that happen in Tahoe. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Well worth the money!! We did the half day tour...and I'd say it was just about perfect, especially for someone like me who is 'out of shape', and also for anyone traveling with children. I think the Rubicon Trail may have been my favorite stop, just because the color of the water is unbelievable!! Thanks for Everything to Doug, and Tahoe Photographic Tours!! 2 Thumbs Up!!

If I could award six stars I would. If you want to get some of the best angles and locations to photograph Lake Tahoe and the vicinity you just cannot do better than this. We had already driven around the lake two days and got some great pictures but we got much better locations with this tour. Ask for Mike, a retired Forest Service guy. He taught us about trees and rocks and nature and history all the while taking us to hidden jewels. At several prime locations we were the only people there and at least one location was miles back a one lane road that ended at a small lake with beaver lodges. You could not take a bad picture. Well worth the money. We did have a small misunderstanding that the owners cleared up amicably. The price is per person, not per photographer. I cannot overstate having a pro photographer that is also a forestry expert makes a huge difference in opportunities provided to you. Itā€™s still up to you to capture it all.

Our guide, Mike, was excellent! He knew so much about the area, the trees, and the history of the area, it made our tour so much more than a photo tour. We absolutely loved the off-the-beaten path sites that we would not have found on our own. We highly recommend Tahoe Photographic Tours.
