Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoeā€™s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

You don't need to be a photographer to enjoy this tour of South Lake Tahoe. Our guide, Keith, was very knowledgeable of the area and took our group of four to sites off the tourist trails, where serious photographers, point-and-shooters, and nature buffs could enjoy the spectacular scenery. Our full-day tour started at lake level, progressing upward into the higher areas of the mountains around the lake. Keith was always on the lookout for wildlife - we saw a mother duck moving her 8 ducklings down a river and a cayote crossed the road in front of us. Our only disappointment in the tour was that an eagle was not in his nest in the marshy area along the lake - he flew off just as we arrived. The tour vehicle was very comfortable and Keith's commentary on local history was very informative. A much appreciated perk was the personalized DVD we received of our tour.

My husband and I took this tour on our first day in Tahoe. It really helped orient us to the area, and we discovered some beautiful sites/locations that we went back to later in the week. Our tour guide was Lisa, and it was her first 'official' tour, so Keith, the owner, also went along. Lisa was very friendly and knowledgable about the area (she recommended places to eat and activities to try). Keith got some really great photos of us (and it's so nice to have both of us represented in the photos instead of only one of us). When Keith found out that we were in Tahoe for a family reunion, he offered to take a large group photo for us (and included this on our disc for free). He really went above and beyond. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience and capture the beauty of Tahoe from areas hand selected by a Tahoe photographer.

This is a great experience for professional photographers and the rest of us too! I understand that all of the guides are excellent photographers and we were blessed to have Keith Price as our tour guide. We were picked up as promised and the ride was safe and comfortable. Stops for wc and and food when we wanted. I loved how Keith tailored the spots to our physical abilities. Bring your hiking shoes for the best views, but I got the feeling that if I wore flip flops, Keith would have found sweet spots accessible by barefoot, if that was what it took to provide the best experience for his customer. We shared the tour with another couple who booked separatedly, and it was more intersteing to have met them as well. The other couple were experienced photographers and the conversations were enriched with technical photography jargon. Talk of cameras and settings and what are you using, was inspiring and interesting to us. My husband and I used a simple point and shoot and our pictures turned out great. Keith made it fun, no matter what your level (if any). One bonus was that Keith took a lot of photos of us too. They looked great in the camera, so it will be hard to decide what to frame. We could take this tour over and over and we would see different things, in different seasons and different times of day. I'm sure we just got a small sample of all the beauty Tahoe offers up. A coyote crossed our path once. We were happy we booked for early in our first south tahoe vacation. We got our bearigs and got a few tips about the area too. Thank you so much! This was the best!!
