Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoeā€™s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

This tour made the long travel to Tahoe well, well worth it. Our guide Robin was outstanding. She is a true people person. I only took six pictures and they were all of Robin. She was so well informed, friendly she changed my favorite senic place from Alaska to Lake Tahoe. I didn't take any pictures because she captured everything better than I could have. I'm waiting for the DVD they supply to be totally blown away. I will write again when I get the pictures, which I know I will love. I am recommending this tour to everyone I know, even my friends in California. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've read a few criticisms about how anyone can visit these places on their own and take their own photos. Although this is true, I know that I would never have thought to visit some of the locations that our guide Bob took us to. In fact, there was only one spot that he took us to that was a popular (and crowded) spot. The rest were very secluded and absolutely beautiful! This was our first trip to Lake Tahoe and I couldn't have thought of a better way for a newbie to spend a half day. I'm no photographer at all, in fact all I have is a cheapy point-and-shoot. So I absolutely loved the pictures that he took and mailed to us exactly two weeks later as promised. The convenience of being picked up in a nice SUV and driven around to all these places was great too! Every stop was just absolutely beautiful. And now we have these postcard quality photos of us in all these places. I think it's a great idea for a business, they do a fantastic job, our guide (Bob) was a great guy with a lot of information about Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas. He gave us some great advice on other areas to visit on our trip as well. To me and my family, the price was right (only $25 for my 11-yr-old daughter!) and I am SO glad we took this tour. I recommend it to anyone looking for some great photo ops, anyone who has never been to Tahoe before, and anyone who is just looking for a beautiful way to spend a half day in Tahoe. The only "cons" I can think of was that we never really got very close to Emerald Bay -- THE MOST POPULAR spot in North America for photographers -- and we never stopped anywhere where we could grab some good food, just cheap sandwiches and junk. You might consider bringing a small cooler with food for one of your stops (call ahead and ask if there will be room), or maybe just have a big breakfast before the tour. Enjoy!!

A fantastic way of seeing some of the best sites around Lake Tahoe, even for amateur photographers. For those who prefer to use this as a luxury nature grand tour of the area, can rest assured that the day's event will be captured professionally by the highly trained tour leader; whose experience, knowledge and enthusiasm shines through. Talking to local people really gave us a rare insight into the history of the place and matters of conservation. Full day tour, taken in July 2011 Final word: Highly recommended.
