What To Expect
1
Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoeā€™s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

My daughter and I went on the Lake Tahoe tour with Mike on July 11. The history was very interesting, especially with his background in forestry. Mike knew just the places to take us for great photo opportunities. In fact, one of the photos I took ended up getting a BEST OF FAIR award at our county fair!. I would recommend this trip to anyone with 4-5 hours of time available.

I am a (semi-serious) amateur photographer, and I really got a lot out of this tour. It was just my wife, me and the tour guide Robin. Robin did an amazing job of taking us to some lesser known spots (mountain lakes, water falls etc...) all the while sharing some amazing stories about the area as well as her own personal stories. Robin pointed out some great locations and while I was shooting the scene, she would shoot pictures of my wife and I. The tour took close to 5 hours and I got plenty of amazing photos, as well as ideas for the next time I was in the area. This trip would be great for just about everyone. Even if you are just a beginner with a point and shoot, or a professional looking for some great locations, I don't think you will be disappointed. The cost per person is very reasonable. I am definitely considering doing it again, during a different season (as they go to different spots)

We took this tour on June 9th 2011. It was the best experience. My husband and I had never been to Tahoe before. The scenery was breathtaking. Greg was an awesome tour guide. He was very knowledgeable. If you get the chance don't hesitate take this tour :) :) :)
