What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

I highly recommend this tour with Jim! He was a fantastic tour guide, very passionate about teaching guests to improve their photography skills, and an all around great guy. We learned a lot about the history of the lake as well. I took my 7 year old, and while longer tours can be very trying on the patience at this age, the experience was made so much better with Jim! He was prompt with hotel pick up and drop off, he made sure we knew when bathroom breaks were coming up (which I appreciate!), we went to 4 breathtaking spots to take photos (and he took lots of photos of the guests). He even spotted me a few bucks to get my kid an ice cream because my cash was in the tour vehicle (which I promptly repaid!) As a parent, I’d say age 7 might be a bit young for the 4 hour tour, but that could just have been my child. I’m so very happy we did this tour and you should book it for yourself right away!
