What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

I had a great time taking photos and getting my photo taken by Stephanie. She picked us all up at our hotels and drove to each spot where we got some history lessons about Lake Tahoe and pointers on what to take photos of. Emerald bay is crazy crowded after 9am, so getting there early was a must. Do bring a camera but if your don’t, be prepared to say cheese a lot. I suggest offering a early 5am tour to catch sunrise photos, but the logistics of getting everyone there together early enough would be a problem.

Excellent tour!!! From seamless booking to the wonderful tour to getting beautiful photos within 48 hours, it was just perfect. The Oak Fire had a massive impact on visibility on the last day of our trip which was also the day of the tour. The owner called us to let us know that the photographer was up for it but that it might be disappointing because of the visibility. She offered a different date/time or a refund but my family just decided to go for it. How kind it was for her to make the offer! I’m so glad my family decided to go. What an amazing experience!! Will absolutely do this again if we return.
