What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

I was part of a business group that had a tour with Robin and Jim. It was fantastic. They drove us to great sites - including some off the beaten path! During the journey, they talked to us about not only the history but also their own cultural experiences in Lake Tahoe which was a treat. At each stop, we had plenty of time to take our own photos (and Jim was great about making recommendations for good ways to frame shots and the types of settings to use). They also took group shots with their cameras. Overall, it was a great tour and I would highly recommend it!

With our tour guide Keith Price we had a very “special day” touring the sights of Lake Tahoe and its surrounding gems (views). This was a photographic tour in which Keith advised us on camera settings, the way to look at the picture to bring out the best possible results, he had a great informative personality and answered any questions that we had. This was not an ordinary tour guide experience, Keith made it a personal tour experience and normally takes small parties so that he can provide a more valuable experience. We (all 4 of us) were able to get some great photo shots and saw more places than we would have ever found on our own. We would highly recommend touring with Keith or his tour guide team as the experience is more personalized and rewarding than other tours we have been on. This was a value plus adventure. Keith did not rush us at any point of the tour and gave us ample time at each location. It was indeed a special day for us all.
