I'm an amateur photographer who was looking for place to photograph while my family went skiing in Lake Tahoe. We came in early March 2017.
I went online to look at ideal photo spots however I found there were many in Tahoe. As my time was limited, I wanted to find someone who knew Tahoe inside and out who could show me around, with a photographic focus. The tour also needed to accommodate some of my family who was not interested in photography as well.
This is when my research lead to Keith Price and his company Tahoe Photographic Tours. I knew I found the right guy not only based on all the 5 star reviews (and the number one tour attraction in Taho), but also when I first made contact and got a response very quickly. Our initial phone call went over expectations, people in the group, physical limitations of people in the group, and what we wanted to see.
Keith was also extremely flexible as the weather in Tahoe can change quickly and Keith was determined to take us when the weather/lighting was perfect.
Keith continued to stay in touch giving me updates on weather all the way up to our arrival in Tahoe. Because it looked like the weather would only be good for the first half of our trip he was determined to take advantage of the lighting/weather so that we could capture the best photos possible.
We arrived in time for sunset and he suggested to take us out to view the sunset. Keith arrived in his very nice and large SUV to pick my whole family up. Luckily we went out for sunset as this was our only sunset for the rest of the weekend as a storm rolled in literally the next night. We were treated to a fantastic pink sunset.
As my favorite time to photograph is around sunset and sunrise, I wanted to be up the next morning to photograph the sunrise. Like clockwork and without hesitation Keith showed up at 520 am to bring myself and my mother to one of the best lookouts in Emerald bay. As my mom is not great on her feet, he literally escorted her to and from the car so she could see the views we were being treated to. I attached one of my photos from the sunrise.
The rest of the day Keith took us to a special area that was closed off to the majority of people during the winter (super exclusive) as well as Sand harbour.
What I haven't mentioned yet is that Keith was photographing myself and my family during this time. And only a few days after the tour he sent edited photos to us to keep as a souvenir. This is definitely a unique and added bonus.
I can't say enough good things about Keith and his wife Robyn, who were welcoming. Keith's sheer energy (despite feeling under the weather) was infectious and made every moment more enjoyable.
Even if you are only in Tahoe to Ski, I highly suggest you to take your family out with Keith's company and have him show you all the sights.
Next time I'm back I will be sure to find Keith.
