Overview

Our meeting time of 8:30 is the optimal time as we are one of the first to get on and usually get back before the strong afternoon winds pick up. Kayaking on lake Yellowstone on a old volcano is truly one of the top five things to do while in the park. With our small group tours we are able to personalize the tour and really show our guests this place in a unique way. All of our kayaks have a rudders which is very important on windy days and is a great way to steer with ease. Our naturalist guides/level 3 ACA certified trip leaders are in the top of their field and have years of experience, this helps when talking about Yellowstone as a naturalist and safety as a seasoned guide. Kayaking past the west thumb geyser and Potts geyser basin is a truly special way see this area of Yellowstone lakes thermal features, With our fast and stable kayaks we are able to cover more ground safety to optimize guests overall experience

Additional Info

Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Hand sanitiser available to travellers and staff
Regularly sanitised high-traffic areas
Guides required to regularly wash hands
Regular temperature checks for staff
Paid stay-at-home policy for staff with symptoms
Bring warm layers that are not cotton. We have dry bags to shed layers. It is always better to be overdressed. the weather starts out in the 40s or 50s and will get up to 80 degrees. The water temp is 38 degrees. Please bring rain jackets and pants if you have them and water shoes,

This kayaking trip was great! The lake was beautiful in the morning with crystal clear water and skies. Our guide Aiden was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He knew so much about the geological history and features of area. We will definitely take this trip again when we return to Yosemite!

This Kayak tour was one of our favorite moments in the park. Aiden was an exceptional tour guide who was both very personable as well as knowledgeable. We were able to learn about the park, chat about life, and cover a lot of distance at the same time. He was very accommodating and adjusted on the fly to fit the group’s specific scenario. I would 100% recommend this experience. We even learned travel tips for other places around the globe due to his vast travel experience. The only negative was the inability to book a trip without cell service or internet access. We had to go to Lake Lodge to find one of the only spots in the park with WiFi to book it. It would be nice if there was a method to book in person some how, either with cash or via a tablet device provided by the hosting company possibly? We were not aware ahead of time that only Verizon would work within the park.

The scenery was amazing Joe Aiden Patrick were awesome and very informative They showed us the geyser and named the mountains and wildlife!
