What To Expect
1
The Amish Farm and House
At the start of your tour, you will be welcomed into our farmhouse for a guided 30 minute tour. During this tour, a guide will teach you about Amish history, religion, and clothing as you walk through each room of our historic farmhouse. This is a great tour to start with as it will give you a good base knowledge before arriving to the Amish homes. It's amazing to see their different appliances and their "modern take" on electricity. Our farm house is the first Amish attraction in the United States. The farmhouse was built in 1805 and the last family to live here was in 1955. When you return to our farmhouse you can visit with our animals and artisans. We even have an Amish schoolhouse and covered bridge.

The Amish Farm and House
After your guided house and bus tour, you are free to explore our 15-acre farm. We have lots of animals for you to visit with and historic barns and buildings. We also have an Amish-one room schoolhouse for you to visit by yourself. Don't miss riding on the Amish scooters, they are so much fun! This is a self-guided tour that you can do before or after your guided tours. If you select the 2pm tour, we suggest you come early!
3
Amish Country
Next, jump on our spacious minivans and we'll guide you through the beautiful Amish farmlands. The bus will stop at three authentic Amish homes. At each home, mom, dad, and their children will allow you to sample Christmas cookies and chit chat about Christmas traditions. You'll leave each home with a variety of cookies and recipes to make at home. We suggest bringing extra cash to purchase more baked goods and handmade items from the Amish families.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

This tour was so great! I loved learning about the Amish, seeing the Amish in their environment and tasting their homemade cookies and treats. The staff on the tour and the house were great. The gift shop was great. Definetly a Covid friendly day trip. Lancaster was beautiful I look forward to returning there for an overnight or another day trip.

My sister, sister-in-law and I were researching fun things to do for our December girls weekend away in Lancaster when the Amish Cookie Tour caught our eye. We were so glad we signed up for this! We had all been to Lancaster on previous occasions, but still found this tour so informative and such fun. As other's have written, the Amish Farm and House is situated right next to the Target on Rt 30, but once you are inside, you really don't notice the Target even being there. We started out with a guided tour of the house and learned many interesting details about Amish life that we were unaware of. After the house tour, we had time to browse in the gift shop. It was raining that day, but we were able to stroll a bit outside where they had a blacksmith shop & baby goats in the barn. We then boarded a small bus that took us to three different Amish houses where we had a wonderful time meeting the families that opened their homes to us as we sampled their homemade cookies. We all received recipes for the cookies along with some cookies to take with us! All of the families were very kind and welcoming. We were also able to purchase some decorations that the children had made which was a nice reminder of our time on this tour. The ride through the backroads in Lancaster was also fun as our excellent bus tour guide gave us more insight into daily Amish living. I would highly recommend this tour!

My extended family-my mom, my daughter (7), my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, had a wonderful time on the Amish Christmas Cookie Tour. Before the tour, we enjoyed some background information about the Amish at the farm house that is on site. Being local, we already had a base knowledge of the Amish but we learned a lot of new facts. We wondered around the farm until it was our turn to board the bus for the cookie tour. It was interesting visiting the Amish families in their homes. We enjoyed talking to them and sampling some of the delicious cookies. As we traveled, Lynn, our tour guide shared additional facts about the families and the Amish. She pointed out parts of the farm and taught us how to identify Amish homes. We had a wonderful time learning about the Amish and sampling cookies! My sister-in-law even made one of the recipes already! This is a must-do for every family.
