This was such an expensive, disappointing experience. Not all of the attractions were functioning properly and the whole environment was a little whomp whomp. Even the retail store was a disappointment. We have been to Legoland in Hyde Park which is a theme park so maybe because that was so wonderful the expectation was higher? Regardless, it was a waste of time, money, and travel. Our 4 year old wanted to leave after 20 minutes, which is about how long it took to experience the whole discovery center.

For the fee charged I expected much much more. The displays are pieces of art. And as such there is NO Interaction with the displays. Its look and don't touch. The different areas are small and brief and take all of 5 minutes. The play areas for the children have thousands of lego pieces all touched by 100's of children (read unclean). The floors appeared to never have been cleaned. The pirate ride had a broken car and not used. And the car we rode had laser guns that didn't have a laser light! wth.. so how boring for the children. Then to get our picture two of the four kiosks were out of order resulting in a line. We gave up and skipped the picture. Then checking out we purchased a small lego kit. I waited 8 minutes in line, got to the front and the women at the register walked away saying someone will help you. Stay away from this place. I am hoping I did not get Covid...

I enjoyed seeing the lego miniland when walking in as they had some of Chicago. I also loved some of the figures though out and the jungle area. My son 2.5 yrs old loved pressing the buttons in the miniland area. he also loved the rides and playing in the area upstairs climbing and building with legos. The car building area was fun for my son as he got to push the car down the road. That is all he wanted to do for like 30 minutes. I did enjoy the 4D movie but my son didnt like getting wet and cried. He didnt want to see a second movie. the merlin ride upstairs isnt anything special but going with my son he had fun and made it worth it. there isnt a lot to do overall but if you have a child who loves legos and building its at least a on time visit. My husband sat around while my son climbed, used the slide and built with legos. I took some pictures but overall it was mainly just hanging around while my son played. My 2.5 yr old enjoyed it and i am glad We did it once. Not sure it was worth what we paid as not a lot for adults. if it was cheaper or closer to where i live i may go again for my son but its not worth the long drive (1 hour no traffic).
