This was literally a "hot place." The top level where the kids are all running and crawling through the "Pirate Adventure Island" was uncomfortably warm on a normal Chicago summer day. My grand kids seemed to have a pretty good time in spite of the conditions. The 4D was pretty good and the Jungle Expedition was well done. We enjoyed looking at a lego replica of downtown Chicago. None of us could figure out how to use the Special Effects camera setup to make a small animated video using lego stuff with a green-screen background. Maybe it needed servicing or a computer update. The boys enjoyed the Virtual Reality ride and shrieked with excitement. My daughter-in-law and her three boys had been to Legoland in Dallas, Texas and was disappointed after having that experience. It seems that the Chicago Legoland is much smaller and less interesting. Unfortunately, we had expected much more for the money. I spent over $100 for 3 little boys, 1 parent, and 2 grand parents. Seems a bit much for an hour or so.

it was so much fun! i did all the rides built legos and they had planned activities and fun contests. the prizes were really nice too. e.g. a free night's stay at a hotel for 2. I would go again.
