On March 30, 2021, my wife , sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and I celebrated our respective wedding anniversaries by sailing the York River with CAPT Bill. What a wonderful few hours on the water. My wife, sister, and brother-in-law had never gone sailing. My last sailing excursion was in 1987 on Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii. I thought that I would surprise my wife of 42 years with something different . Boy was she surprised!
It was a very breezy day so there was plenty of wind for the sails. CAPT Bill's many years of experience was quite apparent by the way he handled the sailboat. He expertly narrated many of the sights that were visible. The real bonus was seeing a U.S.Navy submarine berthed at the Yorktown Naval Station. It was a little chilly but we were dressed appropriately. If sailing does not relieve your stress or lower your blood pressure, there is no hope for you. If you want a few hours of respite from the constant shrill of bad and depressing news from television and the internet, I highly recommend sailing on Williamsburg Charter Sails. You will not be disappointed!
