We had a splendid sail on the York River. The day was a bit on the hot side, though being on the water helped. Captain Bill was great with sailing lessons and Battle of Yorktown stories.

Our granddaughter wanted to go on a sailboat where she could "do the sailing" and this was perfect! Capt. Bill let her take the wheel as long as she wanted. His calm manner was very reassuring, and he gave just enough background about the mechanics of sailing to help us understand what was happening. His talk about York River history was interesting to all of us. What really impressed me though was that Bill called at 7am on the day of our sail to ask if we could delay our arrival for an hour because the winds were supposed to pick up later in the afternoon - and they did! He wanted us to have the best experience possible.

Wonderful experience to enjoy the water, learn the nautical perspective of Revolutionary War history, and celebrate an anniversary. Captain Bill is very knowledgeable and tailored the trip to meet the interests of all the passengers on the trip.
