Lexington Green
On the one hour tour, you will explore the many notable sites surrounding this National Historic Landmark. It is considered consecrated ground, both for the blood shed on it and for the Minutemen who are interred here. Some highlights include: The iconic Henry H. Kitson Minuteman Statue The Revolutionary War Monument, a granite obelisk erected in 1799, where the remains of seven militiamen killed in the battle are buried. Captain John Parker monument inscribed with: ā€œStand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.ā€ The Old Belfry, which sounded the alarm on April 19, 1775, calling the militia to the common. The Old Burying Ground where Captain John Parker, ministers John Hancock and Jonas Clarke, and an unknown British soldier are buried.

Had a nice walk through the Green on a nice day. Our guide was very knowledgeable but could have been more engaging, especially with the kids in the group. Wouldn’t recommend for younger kids.

Our guide’s presentation was not only informative but also engaging. Of all the presentations that we attended during our visit to the Lexington & Concord historic sites this was definitely our favorite. I didn’t catch the name of our traditionally dressed militia guide ( 11:30 am tour 9/16/22) but he was great!

Max our tour guide was excellent. Knowledgeable and a talented fife player. Our friends from Las Vegas commented that this tour should be mandatory for all.
