Lexington Green
On the one hour tour, you will explore the many notable sites surrounding this National Historic Landmark. It is considered consecrated ground, both for the blood shed on it and for the Minutemen who are interred here. Some highlights include: The iconic Henry H. Kitson Minuteman Statue The Revolutionary War Monument, a granite obelisk erected in 1799, where the remains of seven militiamen killed in the battle are buried. Captain John Parker monument inscribed with: ā€œStand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.ā€ The Old Belfry, which sounded the alarm on April 19, 1775, calling the militia to the common. The Old Burying Ground where Captain John Parker, ministers John Hancock and Jonas Clarke, and an unknown British soldier are buried.

The tour was nice, not sure I couldn’t have gotten the same out of it if I did the self guided tour. We had Drew, he was good but seemed a little nervous. Then found out he hadn’t been doing it long. Could have added some more ā€œlittle knownā€ facts but that is just a personal preference in my part

I booked a private tour for our family, our youngest daughter was studying the Revolutionary War this year in elementary school. But, everyone in our family learned something. The guide was knowledgeable, kind, and engaged everyone. This tour is affordable, significantly less than the competitors (and it is awesome). Guides live in the area and our guide was an excellent storyteller. We started our day here in Lexington and finished our day in Concord. Seriously, do not miss this great tour!
