Limahuli Garden and Preserve

Discover the plants that traveled with them in their canoes and how their culture was inseparable from the plants that sustained them. Contemplate the impact of plant invaders and learn what is being done today to protect fragile ecosystems. Ascend to the Whale Trail and take in the dramatic panorama of the ocean. This is a beautiful historic garden. There is so much to learn about the plants and people of Hawaii. We took our time strolling through and sitting on the benches looking at the view.

We really enjoyed all the stories and legends from the past that are in the book. . Limahuli garden is doing important work preserving endangered species and eco systems.

The whole trail is beautiful and the guide book makes the walk all the more enjoyable if you want to learn some history of the plants.
