This beautiful valley is a step back in time. You must make reservations and as soon as you check in you are given a well-written booklet that fully explains each of the numerically marked sites. The pathway is well marked and the walk is very easy- lots of benches along the way if you choose to rest or take a few moments to absorb the tranquility and beauty of the gardens. One of the best parts of this experience is you do not set off as a group. Upon checking in you are free to go off on your own at your own speed. Since we arrived several minutes before our reservation, my husband and I found ourselves largely alone with other guests keeping a respectful distance. However, the best part of this adventure is seeing so many healthy native Hawaiian trees and plants in a natural setting with views of the NaPali Cliffs and waves at Ke’e Beach below. Mahalo to the friendly, gracious staff who are keeping this important, pristine garden intact for locals and visitors to see and experience.
