Llama/Alpaca Hike and Farm Tour

Overview
Your visit will begin with a brief tour of our farm and introductions to some of our smaller friends (i.e pygora goats, sheep and overly friendly barn cats ) with a short story of our 1850 homestead located in The Historic Hudson Valley on 25 bucolic acres . Followed by Llama/Alpaca 101 and why these soft and fluffy critters are the new Unicorn of animals. We will cover basic safety rules and answer any questions before we begin our trek.

We will guide your Llama/Alpaca trek through gentle pastures, paddocks, past a stocked Bass pond and encourage Llama/Alpaca Selfies along the way.

You will experience a walking and working Fiber Farm tour amongst our 25 bucolic pastured acres. Our hope is that this tour will allow you to reconnect with a quieter side of life, one that allows for relaxation, warm and welcoming animal encounters and a country stroll through our pastures allowing a reconnection to nature.

We did the lama yoga and lavendar loofah excursion this past saturday. We had amazing weather. Yoga instructor was amazing. The class is all levels and focused on stretching, nothing crazy. Everyone can do it. Lamas are not very social animals, they kinda get scared when coming closer. After they eat their snacks they just kind waited by the gate, seemed like they wanted to go back in their open field. However there are many goats and they are extremely friendly and curious if you are looking for interaction. After class, they released the goats. We pet them and fed them with grass from our hands, they approach humans and curious to see what is inside your bag if you leave on the ground. The owner of the farm Andrea gave us the lavender soap loofah workshop. The workshop was outside and we maintained distance. The event wasnt packed, just the right amount of people. It wasnt the plant loofah, what she thought us to make was a felt wrapped soap- which serves like a loofah in bath. And we got to keep our felt wrapped soaps. Andrea also gave us a little background on how they started the farm, and what the animals are for etc. And some information on why it is good to use natural oil base soap. They also have a cute giftshop that is very reasonbly priced. They let us go back to the goats and lamas for photograpy. It was a very relaxed environment and very friendly people. I would def. recommend their tours to anyone. i plan to go back for the hike. Lamas do photograph very well, make sure to take plenty of photos!

I had seen llamas and alpacas before but this was the first time that I interacted with them. Walking them on their beautiful farm was awesome. The guide (one of the farm owners) was very warm, knowledgeable, and interesting, I learned alot about the animals which also included sheep, goats, and "guard" cows. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I visited in September 2020. We had the pleasure of being greeted by two ultra friendly cats. After a few minutes we were guided to an area to meet some of the goats that live on the property. After a brief explanation of the farm, we were paired up with an Alpaca or Llama for the walk portion of the tour. I had the pleasure of walking Biscotti- the kissing Llama. He was such a love and it was nice spending some time walking around the farm and enjoying the nice weather. It was a great learning experience and would definitely visit again.
