Really helpful staff, bus pick up from Juneau. Bit choppy going out but fine once there. But if a hit and miss experience, saw lots of whales blowing but not many above surface. Good experience.

Shortly after leaving the port, Captain Josh found a pod of humpback whales feeding on a school of herring. Must have been 10-13 whales and thousands of the small herring. His crew mate then deployed the drone which hovered over the pod and transmitted its view back to the tour boat, allowing us to view the action both at sea level and from the air. We followed the feeding for 45 mi uses or more, also spotting sea lions and then sea otters swimming on their backs. At the end of the tour we were able to purchase a copy of the drone highlights on a USB thumb drive. Josh proved very knowledgable and articulate; explaining the whales and their habits as well as that of other wildlife in the strait. Not only was this the best shore excursion we took on our August 2022 cruise, it may have been the best shore excursion I've ever taken, no small feat given the 40 or so cruises I've enjoyed over the years.

The extra drone footage was excellent and affordable! The crew was awesome! This was one of my favorite experiences in Alaska!
